What gets checked

What the Quick Check Looks At

The checker reads the delivered HTML and response headers for one public URL, plus the domain's robots.txt and llms.txt. It groups potential issues into eight easy-to-follow areas.

  • SEO & Indexing

Page titles, descriptions, canonical URLs, language versions, and crawling or indexing signals such as robots.txt and noindex.

  • AI Search & Agents (GEO)

Structured data (JSON-LD), technical crawler signals, llms.txt and main-content markup - not predictions about AI-generated answers.

  • Headings & Structure

Heading hierarchy, skipped levels and visible issues with page organisation.

  • Accessibility

Detectable issues involving alternative text, labels and interactive controls.

  • Links & Controls

Links without clear destinations or labels, and problematic interactive elements.

  • Images & Media

Missing image dimensions, alternative text and unusual media attributes.

  • Security & Loading

HTTPS, security headers such as HSTS, insecure embeds and potentially render-blocking scripts.

  • HTML Quality

Duplicate IDs, invalid nesting and other detectable markup problems.

Good to know: This is a quick check of one public page, not a review of your entire website. It does not run JavaScript or replace a full audit or comprehensive performance, security or accessibility testing. Its findings help you decide what deserves a closer look.

Fair use

Free to Use - Fair and Straightforward

The free check is intended for websites you own or public pages that the site owner has given you permission to check. Automated bulk requests, embedding the checker in third-party services, resale, or using it as your own agency, SEO or checking service is not permitted without Velvionix's consent.

Website owners can identify checker requests by VelvionixHtmlStructureCheck/1.0. If you would like to prevent checks of your domain, please contact us. We maintain an internal blocklist for this purpose.

Common Questions

Why does the checker flag errors when my website seems to work?

A technical finding does not automatically mean your website is unusable. Some findings concern individual signals. What matters is whether an issue genuinely affects your website and whether the same problems appear on other important pages.

Can the checker assess content that appears only after a click?

The checker examines the delivered HTML without running JavaScript. It therefore cannot assess content that is loaded by JavaScript only after an interaction. Even when initially hidden content is already in the HTML, the assessment is limited to the available HTML signals.

Why are there no complete loading metrics or Core Web Vitals?

The checker only shows how long our server takes to fetch the HTML document. That is not a full browser-based loading test. For rendering, responsiveness and Core Web Vitals, a separate browser-based tool such as Lighthouse is more appropriate.

Can the checker tell me where I rank on Google or appear in AI answers?

No. The quick check examines technical signals, not actual search rankings or appearances in AI-generated answers. Having an llms.txt file does not improve rankings in Google Search. Visibility also depends on content, relevance and competition.

Can I check a private page or an internal website?

No. The quick check is designed for publicly accessible HTML pages over http or https. Login-only pages, internal addresses, personalised links, non-HTML files and excessively large responses are not suitable for this check.
